The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I'm originally from Pittsburgh, PA and have lived in NYC and the Washington, D.C. metro area since graduating from Penn State University, University Park in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Economics. Since graduation, I've been involved as professional trail/ultrarunner competing on the national and international level; a certified running coach through USATF, professional in sports marketing and a proud member of PowerBar Team Elite, and the nationally ranked Nike Central Park Track Club CPTC. In 2008, I won the USATF 50 Mile and Marathon Trail 20-29 age group national titles, have been a 3x Elite finisher at the internationally prestigious NYRR Empire State Building Run-Up and successfully completed 21 marathon/ultramarathons with 14 Boston Marathon qualifying times. I've been a member of three national teams and competed in two world championships, placing 33rd at the 2008 XTERRA Trail Running World Championship in Kualoa Ranch, Oahu, Hawaii, and 28th in the Greatest Race on Earth 2007/08 in Nairobi, Kenya. Additionally, I'm the owner of Richard Burgunder, Inc., a global sports and fitness consulting firm. Richard Burgunder, Inc. provides sports marketing and management services, fitness consulting, coaching and professional racing resources to individual, commercial, and non-profit clients; specializing in endurance and extreme sports.
